Harvard joins DataCite

Harvard University is joining DataCite http://www.datacite.org/, an international organization which aims to establish easier access to research data, increase acceptance of research data as legitimate contributions in the scholarly record, and to support data archiving to permit results to be verified and re-purposed for future study. Through the EZID service of California Digital Library, the Harvard Library, Harvard Dataverse Network and NASA ADS will be able to mint DOIs for datasets in their repositories, making data citable and measurable as part of alternative metrics of research impact.
